Crane Operator Classes Regina - For the supervisors and the operators, new and current, the crane operator training course is suitable for all. Course content includes applicable provincial, state and federal safety regulations. The training's first part consists of complete in-class instruction and test. Following that is a hands-on customized session with practical instruction and evaluation.
Course content applies to all categories and types of overhead lifting devices. Specific instruction would concentrate on aspects of crane operation utilized at the trainee's workplace. Upon completion of the course, people training will learn how to operate specific overhead lifting devices, related parts and attachments efficiently and safely.
The operator course's goal is to first identify and potentially dangerous operator habits that may develop when a person operates an overhead crane. Costly damage to products and equipment could be avoided with right practices. Training lessens the chance of a workplace injury or incident taking place.
The length of the course is eight hours of classroom instruction followed by a few hours of on-site, hands-on, customized training. Participants are graded on their knowledge of training material via an evaluation of their practical knowledge and written tests. The minimum acceptable score is 80%.
In the in-class session, participants will learn applicable causes of damages and occurrences, legislation and guidelines, hazard awareness, internal responsibility, basic equipment and design principles, capacity ratings/load weight calculations, safe hosting/operating techniques, pre-shift equipment checks, types of hardware, equipment applications/rigging, angles and hitches, operator/pedestrian safety, turning/flipping loads safely, hand signals for operators and slingers.
The practical training and evaluation part of the course must be pre-scheduled. This customized part of the training would be held at the trainees' facility. The length of this practical training component is an hour or two. The instructor would train two operators at a time on skills like for instance safe operation, planning the lift and proper rigging practices.
Upon finishing the in-class instruction and the practical operating instruction and evaluation, the trainee would write an exam. Signed safety rules will be needed from each participant. Individual wallet certificates would be given to successful trainees. The company will be given a framed wall certificate.
